Pacific Southwest Biological Services, Inc., (Pacific Southwest), is a California-based C-corporation offering a wide range of ecological, natural resource planning, and natural history services, including the design and implementation of field survey programs for collection of specific natural history baseline data, verification of previous biological surveys conducted by outside agencies, data interpretation, analysis of data for project planning and design, and preparation of reports providing accurate and detailed results. All aspects of the biotic and associated abiotic environment are included in the range of services provided.
History
Pacific Southwest is a diversified professional biological services firm with over 30 years of experience in providing biological expertise, permitting support, and mitigation analysis for small, medium-sized, and major private enterprises, other environmental consulting firms, and federal, state, and local government agencies. The staff and affiliates have conducted numerous solution-oriented biological, planning, environmental resource management, and facility studies for a variety of both public and private sector clients. Pacific Southwest, based in National City, has conducted business as a California corporation since October 1978 and has completed more than 5,000 projects in southern California. The company has expanded its services into northern California, Nevada, Arizona, and Mexico. Pacific Southwest Southwest has operated in Arizona as Gila Biological Services since 1990. In 1997, the firm's president and sole shareholder, R. Mitchel Beauchamp, consolidated the operations of a sister consulting firm, Tierra Madre Consultants, Inc., formerly located in Riverside, California, into those of Pacific Southwest. Initially, the majority of Pacific Southwest's contract work involved primarily development projects. The company has evolved and has gained experience and developed expertise through participation in an extensive range of undertakings.
